February Week 1: INTEGRITY

"Integrity is doing the right thing, even if nobody is watching." – Anonymous

At Canadian Black Belt Academy Bolton, we believe that integrity is one of the most important values a martial artist can have. It means doing what is right, not just when others are watching, but all the time.

Integrity in Karate means committing to your training, respecting your instructors and peers, and always striving to improve. It’s easy to make good choices when everyone is looking, but true integrity is shown when you make the right decision, even when no one else will ever know.

People with integrity stay honest, uphold strong moral values, and never compromise their principles—even when faced with difficult situations. In martial arts, this means training hard, pushing yourself, and showing respect, even when there’s no immediate reward.

Ask yourself:

  1. Have you ever been asked to do something you knew was wrong?
  2. How did it feel when you had to stand your ground?
  3. How can you show integrity at home, school, and in Karate?

Integrity is not just about what we do on the mats—it’s a way of life. Let’s strive to be people of strong character in all that we do!
